From the Streets to a Place Called Home

Imagine waking up every morning not knowing where your next meal will come from, where you will sleep that night, or whether anyone even sees you.

Now imagine someone coming alongside you and saying:

“You are not forgotten. You matter. God has not given up on you—and neither have we.”

That is where Dry Bones Come Alive Ministry begins.

For years, we have gone into the streets of Jacksonville to serve people who are hungry—not only for food, but for hope, love, dignity, and God. We feed. We clothe. We pray. We listen. We build relationships.

But we believe God is calling us to go further.

We don't want to simply help people survive another night on the streets. We want to help create a pathway toward a new life.

That is why we are believing God for a five-year vision to develop a tiny-home community for people experiencing homelessness.

Picture a community where a person who once slept on the street can have a safe place to call home.

A small, beautiful home of their own.

A warm bed.

A private bathroom.

A kitchen.

A garden.

A community that knows their name.

A place where they can begin rebuilding their lives.

And at the heart of this vision, we see more than buildings.

We see lives being restored.

We envision a community with tiny homes, gardens, a community center, recovery resources, opportunities for work and life skills, and a place where people can experience the love of Christ in practical ways.

This is not just a housing project.

It is a hope project.

It is about taking someone from “I have nowhere to go” to “I have a place.”

From “Nobody cares about me” to “I belong.”

From survival to stability.

From hopelessness to hope.

And from brokenness to restoration.

We know this vision is bigger than one person, one church, or one ministry.

It will take all of us.

It will take people who are willing to pray.

People who are willing to serve.

Churches willing to partner.

Businesses willing to invest.

Volunteers willing to show up.

And generous people willing to give.

Every dollar given can become part of something bigger than itself—a meal, a blanket, a shower, a tiny home, a garden, a job opportunity, a second chance, and ultimately, a life transformed.

Our prayer is that you won't simply hear about what we are doing.

We want you to become part of it.

Maybe your role is to pray.

Maybe it is to volunteer.

Maybe your church can partner with us.

Maybe your business can sponsor part of this vision.

Maybe God has placed it on your heart to give.

Whatever your part may be, we believe there is a place for you in this story.

Because when we look at the people living on the streets, we don't see statistics.

We see people.

We see mothers and fathers.

Sons and daughters.

Brothers and sisters.

People who have dreams, gifts, stories, and purpose.

And we believe that with the right community, the right resources, and the love of God, their story does not have to end on the streets.

The Bible says in Ezekiel 37:

“Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.”

We believe God is still breathing life into places that look hopeless.

And we believe Dry Bones Come Alive Ministry is being called to be part of that work.

Our five-year vision is simple:

Bring hope to the streets. Build homes for the homeless. Restore lives. Build community. And show people the love of Christ in action.

This is only the beginning.
